Only firefox open.  nothing else.
only doing one mark at 3D option my computer gets noisy,
all computer cooling is running wild.
System runs not stable anymore.
 

Also tested at the brand new
OMEN X by HP 900-201ng Gaming Desktop-PC (Intel Core i9-7920X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, 3TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
from my daughter. I can tell you - that 3D feature does not make fun there, too. because of Internet line.

You could not believe me, but you are using Windows XP which slows things down.

The latest Chrome for XP is 49 version. 

Since 49 only chrome released a lot of features, here some of them:
1. Webgl2 instead of webgl1. Simply webgl2 just faster. Our primary target is webgl2.
2. WASM litoff (https://v8.dev/blog/liftoff) - much faster initialization of 3d
3. wasm streaming compiling - caching and faster initialization of 3d

You have a good hardware, but browser cause you some problems.
