You can protect a weak player, when he will be outlawed. For this he needs to fly with a mission 'attack' on any strong player and canceled (attack is not required)

so you have to be in the same points bracket even to defend! that makes no sense, that means that even in an alliance only players of similar strength can defend! that defeats the purpose of being allied

you can become outlaw and defend anyone:P
if the enemy keeps going to an outlaw that means hes either brainless or he has too big fleets

no we do not want to be outlaw

otherwise hafta play the cat and mouse or go vac till hes up to points or start hes fleets from coords or he can send hes fleet to rest in your planets
many ways to stay safe
