is broodling defense of IPM buggy?, more broodlings used than required to defend against IPM attack

One of my friends was attacked by IPM - his ABMs and Broodlings defended. However, it seems that more broodlings were lost than needed to defend. The description of broodling says that 4 broodlings are needed per IPM, but see the report below. (I removed the name and location for safety. PM me for details)

From the coordinates produced a missile attack (15 interplanetary missile) on planet
[xx:xx:xx] lost: 15 Anti-ballistic missiles, 60 Broodling
15 IPMs should have been handled by 15 IPMs OR by 60 broodlings, yes? Is this a bug, in this case both 15 IPMs AND 60 broodlings were used.
Also, why is "battle report" written in Cyrillic "Боевой доклад"?
