Following is a flight mode in which your fleet automatically holds position behind the selected object and moves along with it.
How it works:
Intercept maneuver: the fleet calculates the target's trajectory and keeps course toward a position behind it, at a safe distance from the moving object.
Distance keeping: after reaching the optimal distance, the fleet matches the target's speed and switches to escort mode.
Head-on collision protection: if the target suddenly turns toward the fleet, the fleet automatically moves sideways off the course line, then takes position behind the target again.
Escorting a stationary target: if the target stops, the fleet takes a stationary observation position nearby and turns toward it.
Important: a fleet can continuously follow only a target whose speed does not exceed its own. If the target is faster, the fleet will simply move toward it at the limit of its capabilities.
