Because of interference of humans there was a split in a swarm of xerjs. It became necessary to defend xerjs buildings from their terrible weapons –
Lexx. Reinforcing the structure of organic buildings seemed impossible, so another way was proposed. The defense scheme involved filling the buildings with a special catalytic mixture that would turn organics into explosives of enormous power.

In its calm state, as long as the building is supplied with special inhibitors, it is safe, but when it is devoured, the supply of inhibitors is cut off and, with enough catalysts, the Lexx that devoured the building suffered an unenviable fate - before it had even left the target orbit, the explosion would tear it to shreds.
The evolution of the poisoning provided the xerjs with the opportunity to destroy any devourers who attempted to trespass on their buildings. Gradually the Lexx became more cautious. Their receptors began to unmistakably detect buildings that had been poisoned. Their instinct for self-preservation overcame Lexx's insatiability and the devouring of poisoned buildings ceased.
Poisoning is pumping the building with a catalyst mixture. It requires an investment of a certain amount of resources and comprises 2 stages:
* Preparations: they filled life-support systems of the building with a mixture of catalyst and neutralizing inhibitors. At first the building is not the danger to Lexx;
* Inhibition: Lexx stuffed the building with poison and inhibitors prevent its explosion on the planet.
The cost of Vespene and preparation time is determined by the structure of the building and the level of Poisoning evolution. Cost:
* Vespene: [building structure] / (100 * (1 + [evolution level]));
* preparation time (sec): 3600 * [root of building structure] / (100 * [evolution level]).
You can revert the process, and get a part of spent resources back. The percentage of returned resources depends on the time that has elapsed since the start of poisoning.
It is impossible to poison the Neural Core.
